What is the Housing Action Corps?

Since 2010, Housing Action Corps has paired hundreds of AmeriCorps members with organizations across Illinois. Each year, we connect 30-40 AmeriCorps members in the VISTA program with community organizations to address local challenges with local solutions. The Housing Action Corps helps organizations launch projects and expand their programs while providing professional development for the next generation of housing justice leaders.

What do AmeriCorps VISTA members do?

AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full-time with community organizations for a year of service. They take on a variety of roles and responsibilities, all aimed at fighting poverty,  ending homelessness, and helping communities thrive.
